First-timer

An American who doesn't know how to make coffee? Shocking.

I'm a sort of rarity here, I suppose. I received a brief tutorial in coffee-making this morning. Then I was asked to make some for a client meeting. I just delivered the finished product to the conference room, and my coworker was kind enough to supply a disclaimer that this was the American intern's first attempt at making coffee.

I guess if it tastes bad, now they'll know why...

When I interviewed in Vegas they showed me their fancy new coffee machine and told me that one of my responsibilities would be helping the other morning producer by getting the guests coffee. I have never felt such immediate sympathy as that--those poor people who would have to drink my mud coffee....because I am BAD at that (I made it for a boss once in high school and never had to make it again). Mormons should not make coffee for others.
